Our Founder

Simão Bessala is a practitioner and theoretician of project scheduling and risk management.  As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), he has been teaching people how to deliver predictability in projects. He has set up a niche in project risk analysis, project scheduling (Primavera P6) and project management 2.0.

Simão is also a project management 2.0 evangelist. He is among those pioneers in heavy civil construction who strongly believe that construction projects can be managed quite in the same manner as technology projects, and use the same tools that those technology companies are already using successfully. He helps companies in their quest for achieving project management maturity with the following advocacy strategies: Consistent use of project management methodology, integrated schedule and cost risk analysis, and virtual construction.
Many of his opponents, especially those safely anchored in status quo, have labeled his approaches as ‘academic fluff’. Yet they have always been surprised by the practicality and the results achieved.

For over 16 years, he has actively worked in different industries, namely, offshore construction, pipeline construction, structural engineering, building construction, architecture, and business consulting. He has developed expertise in complex project scheduling, integrated schedule and cost control, project risk management and organizational health.

Fluent in English, French, and Portuguese, he has been using those languages in his various roles as Project Manager or Consultant/Trainer. He owns a Master of Civil and Structural Engineering. He worked as structural design engineer in his early years in the San Francisco Bay Area, before moving into construction management.

Bessala has flipped the model and changed the approach to construction project management for even the most seasoned veterans.
